Is it wakeboarding season yet?The weather is starting to turn pretty nice again here in Northern Cali, maybe time to start getting out on the river a bit more often!
Check out some wakeboarding clips from last season always fun to watch and remember how sore I was then...
Here's a clip of an inverted attempt from me at the end of last year's season... If you get bored watching the lead up to it, just skip ahead to the end.
Here are some clips of me crashing and burning last season, bring your OH face to watch these. I'll be ready to start landing them this year. =)
Here are some clips of kevin attempting last year, we have such different styles, gotta love it! =)
pbh4 Wakeboarding Here's a little page for wakeboarding stuff. I remember doing water sports a little growing up. My uncle had a jet boat for a while and I remember getting dragged behind it for a little while on a knee board and tube. Then maybe even tried water skiing a little. I remember not really liking being in the water where I couldn't see what was in there with me, I think I was a little scared. But since then I've gone a bit more and developed a little love for the water, especially here in CA when the summers get so hot! Wakeboarding came on the scene and I probably started going a little sporadicly once I got to college. I recall trying one time on an old Ski Natique in Don Pedro when I was in jr high or high school. All that I remember was briefly standing up and then heading directly to the side because I was so used to water skiing. My uncle got me a board at some point, maybe in 2001 or so and I started trying that out on his boat. Since then I've gained a little experience and it's hard getting me to stop. =)

Wakeboarding and more wakeboardingSome good sunset rides!! You gotta just love being on the water for the last ride of the day and then getting on the boat, drying off and watching the sun go down. A pretty nice way to finish out a day!!
Wakeboarding season again?! Finally made it back out on the boat again and up and down the sac river. It was a little chilly and the rivers are really full, but the soreness and jet lag are worth a day on the water!!!
Maybe I'll detail this more later for me, we'll see, I've still got the times engraved into my mind! =). Thanks to those whose boats I bummed on and all the good time ensuing!! Much appricieated!!
wakeboarding, back again?! Kev happy to be on the glass!
Talky got back from his stint in New Orleans and was ready to get back behind the boat and give it a go again. Kev and I happily abliged and were ready for the chilly waters!! I went over to don's house to get the boat set up and back in the water. since we hadn't been using it, the battery had drained and the boat subsequently would not start. Don did have a charger handy, but that just wasn't quite doing the trick. So we were scratching our heads trying to figure out if something else had changed in the meantime. I thought I should bring my car over and see if that would give us enough juice to get the boat started. luckily for us that worked at starting the boat, now the real test was to come, if we could start her up in the water and have enough working power to start up again and again. Well we decided to bring along my battery to supplement any power concerns. We dropped in and after a little fiddling got the boat started up. We thought 'why in the heck should we even turn the boat off since we got it going?' so we let the boat run the whole time the 3 of us took 2 runs each. after that though, i know the alternator charged that battery up, because it would start right up after that. I got in 2 solid runs, maybe falling once or twice (meaning I wasn't pushing real hard, but having a good time). The water was glass, and hardly any boats were out. Only one real mishap on the day in my mind: we were heading into the sun down the curved stretch of the river where the best water normally is. i pulled out and then came across and cleared the wake. no sooner did i land did i realize there was a boat coming straight at us fairly quickly. I stood up a prepared to cut hard to get out of the way, but realized it probably wasn't necessary. The sucker missed me by maybe 3'. i was not happy, not only are you supposed to go 5 mph when you are anywhere near another boat, he was just a dummy. after that the day was just glorious. Why can't the water be that calm in the summer when it's nice and warm?
pine flat lake hung out at pine flat lake (map at lake, vicinity map) this last weekend with my old roomie ryan bart and his fam. Pretty calm lake, and there weren't too many people there (not according to his dad, who said that weekend was the busiest he'd seen the lake). we would swim, board, eat, hang out, talk, look at the stars. little bit of a drive, but that's ok. at the lake i remembered how awesome the stars look at night and how small i am. also swimming after the sun goes down always makes me think that there are things in the water, since i can't see as well anymore, but that makes swimming that much more fun...
get up you pansy me attempting to wakeboard...i'm starting to get a little more comfortable out there, i really need to watch some more people who are good do a few tricks. i need to be careful though, my skin will soon turn to leather and my brain to water... the sore neck, shoulders, ankles, and back are worth it, for sure, i'm a glutton for pain, as long as i'm getting better!
currently living in sac, ca. working for water resources. went to ucd in civil, grew up in turlock, ca. there is a lot to say about me, i am constantly redefining myself everyday. i think the things i do define who i am on a certain level. although the more i communicate and interact with others the more i find out about myself. i can be completely happy without interaction with people though. when i run, when i bike, i am completely in my own thoughts, sometimes i just pay attention to my surroundings, other times, my mind is going a million miles a minute. sometimes i have such a big picture perspective, other times i will really focus on something specific. i'll keep living, learning, experiencing...
