Working in the desert Ah yes, the high desert! Here is a view from the topmost location on my project looking back towards the pumping plant. Next to it is a rough profile of the discharge line. We'll see how this job shapes up, the contractor is cranking along. A few items of note are working in the confined spaces, working with hazardous materials (lead in the joints and paint). A few more weeks of Mon-Sat shifts and it'll get done! It is suprisingly dry here, my lips actually get chapped here...hmmm....
hiking disc golf and views! We went hiking in the meadow up 431, a relaxing stroll to a good view, can't beat it. Except if there was some snow for skiing though... what an unsual picture -- the group of us... We got some disc golf in on the hike, weaving thru the trees and aiming for rocks and stumps, too much fun! kev, rand, trev hiking -- kev chillin -- my shadow kev hanging out on a stump -- there actually was some snow, definitely not enough for skiing though... kev hanging in the truck waiting for the sunset... -- check out the lake surface. sun is almost down -- beautiful sky!

turkey trot
Ah yes the annunal turkey trot run in davis to get us ready to eat on thanksgiving!!! We stayed up until about 2a the night before hammin it up on my bday. Apparently kev's theory of staying out late and running early in the morning is still intact. A new PR for ian, kev, and me. I just don't get the philosophy, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it...? Here are the times and places of some of us I noticed at the run. Check it out, another pretty quick run...
my bday!A few of us from the crew gathered up and went on over to the buckhorn in winters. Thanks for wishing me a good 26th. =) How can you miss out on some good steak and some tunes from the jukebox?!

Biking & Fondue Kev and I got a quick ride up in Auburn (I may try to map out the route w/ a profile a little later, don't have the software in front of me at the moment)
Start: 2:20p from the Raley's shopping center off Foresthill Rd End: 4:30p same spot Riding Time: 1 hr 51 mins Distance: 30.1 mi Ave Speed: 16.2 mph
Overall a good ride, i was feeling pretty slow, i think due to the food i ate before. kev started out strong with a red bull boost, while i warmed up late in the ride. Some good rollers and moderate decents. always like riding in the hilly air.
Route: (start) Forresthill to Bowman North - East on Dry Creek Rd - North on Lake Aurthur Rd - (then we tried going across the fwy at placer hills road and turning north on Bass Lake Rd, but it dead ended..., then crossed over on Orchard and turned up Burgen Rd and it deadended too!) - over I-80 at Orchard - Left on Applegate - Right on W Paoli Rd - left on Ponderosa Wy - turns into Canyon Way - we turned around at Yankee Jims Rd - passed back over fwy at Weimar Cross Rd - right on Placer Hills Rd - back on Lake Aurthur Rd - to dry creek - to bowman - to foresthill. As you notice we're still trying to figure out the routes without a map on hand. the more riding we do up there the more we'll remember!
After finishing up the ride we visited with jonesy and went to the Pack's for some Fondue. It was both kev and my first fondue experience, can't say that i can complain at all. you take some food dip it in some cheese and eat. you take some wine drink a little and smile. you take some food dip it in chocolate and eat. you take some wine drink a little and talk...wash, rinse, repeat...
currently living in sac, ca. working for water resources. went to ucd in civil, grew up in turlock, ca. there is a lot to say about me, i am constantly redefining myself everyday. i think the things i do define who i am on a certain level. although the more i communicate and interact with others the more i find out about myself. i can be completely happy without interaction with people though. when i run, when i bike, i am completely in my own thoughts, sometimes i just pay attention to my surroundings, other times, my mind is going a million miles a minute. sometimes i have such a big picture perspective, other times i will really focus on something specific. i'll keep living, learning, experiencing...
