  what day is it?
The project I'm working on here in Pearblossom is going well, the contractor is on top of things for the moment, relations are good, character abounds on the job site, and I'm gaining some good experience. The project involves cleaning 313 joints inside a 9' dia PCCP (precast concrete pipe) and filling the joints with new material. It doesn't sound that hard, but there actually is a lot that goes into the effort. The joints have lead found in them which requires containment and special handling procedures. There is a huge vacuum set up at one end of the pipe line which is constantly working to bring in fresh air and clean the airborne containaments from the demolition in the pipe. Everytime someone enters the pipe all the confined space safety steps are followed. Also, everyone in the pipe must wear a harness, a respairator and a 'space suit' to keep the dirty products off their clothes and in the pipe. Anyway take a look at some pictures from the job:

Check out some of the views in the area of the project.

A morning sunrise

On thursday morning when the sun came up we discovered snow on the mountians behind the project.

here's me in the office trailer and in the pipe

this is ron, the other inspector on the job, he's showing me the ropes and making the job intersting, enjoyable and a learning experience, you couldn't ask for a better person to work with and learn from.
