Last Day of Skiing for the 06-07 Season? Friday, not a bad day for some skiing! Kev, trev, syd, and I headed up the hill for a good day of spring skiing. Surprisingly, the snow was really nice and I had a blast. Basically a day of groomed runs, but that can be a lot of fun when there are no people on the hill, it's warm, and I'm happy to not be at work! The day was pretty short, finishing up around 2 something. But that gave us the chance to head back down the hill and jump on the boat for a quick couple runs of wakeboarding. I can't say I wasn't a little tired wakeboarding, but still, now I can say I've skiied and wakeboarded on the same day! =) (btw, the pics aren't too bad for coming from my phone...)
This season started out very slow with a bleak outlook for snow. I didn't get up the hill and actually skiied for the first time this season on Feb 14! They also changed the vertical plus thing on the season pass, so instead of scanning in each time you're getting on the lift you just do it at the beginning. This isn't as beneficial for us who hit a lot of runs, so getting this bonus feature is less attractive for us now.
I was working out in the field during Dec & Jan and decided not to get the season pass this year. I wasn't sure how long I would be down in the pipe. I got back in early Feb and got in a few days to ease the urge, still not many days, but I can't complain. =)

Skiing 2004-2005 season 2004-05 ski season was the season of the pass. As if I didn't keep track of enough numbers and too much misc information, the season pass would log every time I went up the chair lift and tell me how many vertical feet I'd skiied...

I think this was the first year using Vertical Plus, kind of a cool bonus. Don't think it always registered the times we went up, and sometimes we just skipped that line... but we still got some good stuff from the pass.
pbh4 Skiing Page Ok, when did I really start skiing a bit? Probably my freshman year in college. I went sporadically a little before that but when I got to college I started getting dragged (willingly!) up the hill to Tahoe. I haven't really been keeping track of the days I've got, that's kind of been a more recent thing for me. My first year in college was a El Nino year and there was a lot of snow!! The years following that I started getting season passes. I don't know how accurate the below is but that's ok... it's really for me anyway:
Ski Seasons: 97-98 - started learning and going a little 98-99 - $199 season pass for kirkwood, not a bad deal when lift tickets were near $40-50 99-00 - $199 season pass for kirkwood again, still a good deal 00-01 - Don't remember 01-02 - Don't remember 02-03 - NorthStar / Sierra Double Whammy Pass since kev and trevs family cabin was near by =) 03-04 - Double Whammy 04-05 - Double Whammy 05-06 - Was out working in SoCal during a couple of the winter months, just went when I got back home. 06-07 - Double Whammy again
currently living in sac, ca. working for water resources. went to ucd in civil, grew up in turlock, ca. there is a lot to say about me, i am constantly redefining myself everyday. i think the things i do define who i am on a certain level. although the more i communicate and interact with others the more i find out about myself. i can be completely happy without interaction with people though. when i run, when i bike, i am completely in my own thoughts, sometimes i just pay attention to my surroundings, other times, my mind is going a million miles a minute. sometimes i have such a big picture perspective, other times i will really focus on something specific. i'll keep living, learning, experiencing...
