pbh4's Lists If you know me, you may know I like to make lists. I think it helps me organize myself and get a grasp on what's going on with me. They give me something tangable, something I can see, something I can shoot for, something I can check, something I can erase, something that can evolve, something that can change, something that can mean nothing at all. Here's some lists I've got going or plan to start going. (Note, these may be alive or dead but again, they're for me... you just get the privilage of looking at em if you choose):
pbh4 Skiing Page Ok, when did I really start skiing a bit? Probably my freshman year in college. I went sporadically a little before that but when I got to college I started getting dragged (willingly!) up the hill to Tahoe. I haven't really been keeping track of the days I've got, that's kind of been a more recent thing for me. My first year in college was a El Nino year and there was a lot of snow!! The years following that I started getting season passes. I don't know how accurate the below is but that's ok... it's really for me anyway:
Ski Seasons: 97-98 - started learning and going a little 98-99 - $199 season pass for kirkwood, not a bad deal when lift tickets were near $40-50 99-00 - $199 season pass for kirkwood again, still a good deal 00-01 - Don't remember 01-02 - Don't remember 02-03 - NorthStar / Sierra Double Whammy Pass since kev and trevs family cabin was near by =) 03-04 - Double Whammy 04-05 - Double Whammy 05-06 - Was out working in SoCal during a couple of the winter months, just went when I got back home. 06-07 - Double Whammy again
Rides: I'm working on trying to keep track of some of the rides I do besides the ride into and back from work, so hopefully I'll have a few posted here.
Running, a love/hate relationship. I run to get in shape to do other sports that require me to run. I run to stay in shape. Running pounds on my body, but for some reason it feels good after I'm done. While I'm doing it I can listen to my breathing and think about how much farther I need to go, how much harder I need to push, how much faster I can get some where, what my heart rate is...and then also about normal type things, like what's going on in my life, what I need to do, what I plan on eating, etc, etc.
Triathlons, why punish yourself? For me it's another challenge and it keeps me in shape with some sort of training goal to make sure I'm not slacking off and can keep doing the things I really enjoy doing. Swimming and biking just aren't that hard on the body and they keep the joints and lungs healthy.
currently living in sac, ca. working for water resources. went to ucd in civil, grew up in turlock, ca. there is a lot to say about me, i am constantly redefining myself everyday. i think the things i do define who i am on a certain level. although the more i communicate and interact with others the more i find out about myself. i can be completely happy without interaction with people though. when i run, when i bike, i am completely in my own thoughts, sometimes i just pay attention to my surroundings, other times, my mind is going a million miles a minute. sometimes i have such a big picture perspective, other times i will really focus on something specific. i'll keep living, learning, experiencing...
